I was with my nephew the other day and we were watching some DVD cartoons. I was about to let her watch Walt Disney’s Emperor’s New Groove. When she checked out my shelf of my DVD cartoon collections and saw Petes Dragon in it. She asked me about the cartoon and since it’s one of my all time favorites, I told her about the story and some other information about the movie. I told her that Pete’s Dragon was the very first Walt Disney film to be recorded in the Dolby Stereo sound system, making it one of the most advanced movies in its time. It is also where
Jeff Conaway had one of his first voice over jobs for doing the voice of Willie. Jeff is better known for his role as Kenickie in the film version of Grease, as Bobby Wheeler from the TV show Taxi, and more recently as Zack Allan in the science fiction show the Babylon 5. Another trivia is Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz has at times adopted the name dragonspete to chat in online rooms. Elliott made a few appearances in House of Mouse and made a cameo in the Who Framed Roger Rabbit DVD. Roght after telling her those things, we ended up watching the whole movie and it actually gave me a problem… She wants an Elliott doll for Christmas, which is a little too hard to find these days…
